Hmmm ... the Louis Theroux doco showed a typical African game park.

The so-called park was really only like an outback bush block with a 3 star homestead and a fenced breeding area tucked away in the bush.(in this case lions..)

The lions for sale were young males and fed a portion of red meat daily .. and apart from the odd snarl .. they are cats after all .. are quite domesticated. When they see the ute coming they run over coz they know they are getting a feed.

Sooo .. the mighty hunter arrives with entourage and after a few days of driving around the Park manager plans a hunt and quietly lets a lion loose from it's enclosure.

The hunt begins and mighty hunter (safe in caged ute..) is driven around for awhile in the bush and then return via a man-made 'water hole' positioned close to the original enclosure ..

The lion let loose is hungry and hangs around the water hole waiting to be fed ..

Up comes vehicle with mighty hunter who drags out his scoped .460 Weatherby Magnum or wotever and fells the cat with one shot from like 50m.

The photo session begins and lot's of congrats for mighty hunter ... the natives then dismember and skin the cat.

Louis Theroux is clearly not impressed and raises questions regarding ethics with Game Park owner .. and subsequent media articles talk about 'killing like a coward'.

Maybe we are just being a tad sooky about it all .. coz there are those who indulge in 'cowardly killing' on a really big scale ...
