"Anyone who tries to link a single day, or even a week, of hot or cold weather in a single location to long term climate is a complete numpty."

That is simply duplicitous. We are seeing record heat waves. Of course you can't link a single event to climate change, if you could, you lot would be out on your ear already.

You can get a lot more mileage by using the single event fallacy - if you split everything up into single events then you can never ever link any record heat wave or statistically significant extreme weather to climate change.

Too bad the projections are all pretty much true and that no one in the scientific mainstream listens to fringe climate denial lunacy any more.

Some of the more extreme and nutty politicians do, but they will get voted out over time as they start to look like the dangerous fruit-loops that they really are.

Anyone else who listens is just irrelevant and probably a serial poster on HotCopper.
