I do not believe in averaging down.

I do agree with the points raised by Nickoo except for the fact regardless how good you research is there is always the risk you have missed something. Lets face it regardless how good we may think we are at analysing stocks you can never be 100% correct. If you could you would not be waisting your time here.

Even if you have been coorect in your analysis if there are not enough buyers that agree with you, the stock is still not going to rise regardless how good your research has been.

I personally do not believe in leaving money tied up in a stock regardless how good that stock is unless that stock is increasing in value. If the stock is not moving in the right direction I would rather use the funds else where or at the very least leave the money in the bank.
