I understand your sentiment pisces but never fully agreed with you.

Anything in life is a gamble. It just depends how you manipulate the odds to your advantage.

Anyone who has ever started a business has taken a gamble. Anyone who has ever driven a car has taken a gamble.

In terms of NEN, ive invested twice in the past 6 weeks (both this week) and made 8% one time and 15% the other. It was more just for giggles than any real money but it more simply highlights how the basic sweeping statements of this thread are just as incorrect as most of the basic sweeping ramping statements made by people on forum threads. The market is a lot more basic in many regards in terms of chance playing a large role but much more intricate in other parts that people like to ignore. Such as most people gaining rose coloured glasses as soon as they invest in a company rather than really holding it into account.

Also people like to think the chance of a successful outcome is much higher than a base rate would suggest... Such as oil exploration.
