That's complete bollocks, look at all the deaths that occur during the heat waves like we are having right now. There were about twice as many heat related deaths to Black Saturday fire deaths. I was reading a reference to that only recently, will post later if I see it again.
Not to mention more extreme fire risk, sea level rise, storm surges, runaway warming due to feedback loops, crop failure, changing rainfall patterns that produce more floods and droughts in different locations, ocean acidification and so on.
You and Matt Ridley are also conveniently ignoring the fact that humans have developed and prospered in approx. 10,000 years of stable climate. This delicate balance is now being upset.
Where do you get off spreading complete rubbish? In any case, aren't we meant to be in a global cooling phase? I thought you were denying warming was happening. Maybe you woke up on the other side of your bed today... hmmm, we're losing the global cooling battle, so let's make today 'warming is good for us' day.
Desperate times for denialists require desperate measures i.e. warming and heat waves are good for us. The question is - why so desperate to deny the science and deny the facts? Where is your super fund at?

P.S. Matt Ridley should be locked up for writing that unsubstantiated garbage. Does anyone at all anywhere in the world believe his gibberish? He hasn't even quoted or referenced one peer reviewed research paper! Just one that was reviewed by, guess who, the Clayton's environmentalist/scientist himself - good old Bjorn Lomborg.
