I did declare in my starting post that apart from the GLD figure taken from GLD website, all the rest of my posts were wild speculations.

I agree with everything you posted in post No.10087861 except two:

1. The westerners will not be buying back the gold. (They might buy back the properties, they might confisticate the properties.)
2. China is not Japan. Japan today and Japan in 1980 has been a vassal state of the USA. it is almost a servant state of the USA. Japan was never even thinking about becoming an Equal to the USA. When Japan bought US stuff back then, it was like the USA was letting the servant take possession of the master's property temporarily, but the master was always going to get them back one way or the other.
