It is going up because an announcement is due in Feb (that looks more likely with the Gold price off the mat) completion of the transaction that leads to lots of cash. Also the quarterly report is due next week - and that will have some good stuff in it - even if there is nothing new to report.
I don't have any reason to think that any specific insider stuff is happening, but am way out of the loop so wouldn't know anyway.
