    jessie1, I do not pretend to have a solution, except prayer. I have composed a prayer for such a purpose.

    Sadly, snuff, I think that prayer is too often used as an excuse for inaction.

    Does Matthew 25: 31-46 not support this view? The verses call on us to feed the hungry etc -
    The last two verses state:

    45“He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’

    46“Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”

    No mention of praying for them or even supporting action with prayer.

    For those who want prayer, I suggest, at a minimum, prayer should be supported by action.
