Freeway, the cultures are much much different. The Eastern culture towards drinking is much different to ours so you can't really compare it. Asian women (SE Asian) generally have a much different view of alcohol than western women with the majority being non drinkers.

yes. shows how harsh Anglo-Australia culture traditionally is; that it required immigration to improve it. even the Aboriginals also had a more advanced social/moral culture

Asian culture is influenced by Buddha, who taught about binge drinking & clubbing:

"There are, young householder, these six evil consequences in indulging in intoxicants [alcohol] which cause infatuation and heedlessness:

    (i) loss of wealth,
    (ii) increase of quarrels,
    (iii) susceptibility to disease,
    (iv) earning an evil reputation,
    (v) shameless exposure of body,
    (vi) weakening of intellect.

There are, young householder, these six evil consequences in sauntering in streets at unseemly hours:

    (i) he himself is unprotected and unguarded,
(ii) his wife and children are unprotected and unguarded,
(iii) his property is unprotected and unguarded,
(iv) he is suspected of evil deeds,
    (v) he is subject to false rumours,
(vi) he meets with many troubles

Freeway, Vietnam has probably the cheapest alcohol in the world. A Tiger beer at a 7/11 costs about 80c and they have places called Bia Hoi's where beer is about 40c a beer. Married men are the drinkers. Vietnamese women just don't drink because they associate drinking with "bad girls". Because "bad girls" are the only ones that go to clubs.

yes. but Western tourist heavily corrupt them with the excellent exchange rates
