Morning drs. He was very cagey as usual. But he was confident. Frustrated of course but we all are. One slight irritation on re-reading the MBL private wealth piece is the apparent silence from RES re some of the inputs - particularly the cost elements (production, washing etc) when we are meant to be a very low cost producer. Call me a cynic, but when analysts or finance journalists (particularly AFR) call you need to humour them. Engage and give them something to work with. Otherwise you're never happy with what they have to say because its never as positive as it could be. So I'm a bit displeased that there was apparent silence and no engagement from RES. Yes, there's always that old chestnut of market disclosure etc, but absolutely everyone talks - they just do it in different ways without legal fears - a coffee at Chifley or a Beer at The Ivy. So why didn't RES? Especially where we really need more good news. Admittedly I think it's too early for the MBL private wealth folk to start buyingc(my intelligence is that they're a very large group but a relatively conservative bunch and not yet rotating out of dividend stocks), but they are a promising distribution channel and they should be engaged with - like all analysts - if the share price is going to get healthier soon. So much of market sentiment is spin and BS so trying to stand aside/rise above it/ignore it etc is doing shareholders a disservice. Steves' (and I assume its him) monastic vow of silence might work in a monastery but not on the ASX. We need a PR lady (sorry guys, not being sexist but the best ones are female). Anyway, much happier now that I've had a whinge. Someone needs to get out and beat the drum.
