Its a worry. Same old mantra by Abbott that he uses for domestic consumption in Australia. Acting more like an Opposition Leader rather than the Prime Minister.
Putting such a domestic petty political spiel when addressing an international forum of leaders is embarrassing.
In any event the international audience would have been thinking, who is this cuckoo that Australians have elected? They know that Australia came out of the GFC better than any other country in the world and in fact Australia was the envy of the world.
Our debt levels are manageable and in fact its Abbott that wants the capacity to increase debt into the future and has legislated to remove any cap so no further approval of parliament is needed regarding debt levels. The current and future governments can go for their lives with debt.
Abbott needs to change his speech writers. They sound tired and incapable of any fresh material that is in Australia's national interest. Maybe he wrote it himself and thats the problem. Also Looking at the sad situation with Indonesia all the signs are worrying.
What else is to come?
If another GFC occurs he infers he wont intervene with stimulus packages and will let jobs be lost and business go to the wall.
Abbott has been in the job for a few months, has done nothing but wrecked our relations with Indonesia and insults all other countries with his simplistic spiel about debt and stimulus. Abbotts simplistic Tea Party type sloganeering is his divine solution to the worlds problems.
What makes it worse is that he has not been able to give any indication how he will give effect to his mantra and everyone knows that in business uncertainty is death. Yes, its a real worry.
