If you believe that Aus is heading towards a downturn then this kind of retail store actually does very well in these conditions. Yes the aus dollar is dropping and probably will longterm but remember all cheap plastic produce comes from CHina and a lower AUD will mean it won't be any cheaper to buy from uk or USA....in fact people will return to buying in stores rather than online.

I lived in the UK for two years from late 2010 where they have big TRS-like chains like Poundland and the 99p store which performed ridiculously well during the GFC (and still do to this day). You'd be surprised who starts shopping at these stores once everyone is strapped for cash!

Just my thoughts, and obviously I'm thinking about the long term story here. I'm still not considering buying right away, but I'll watch what happens from here closely
