Yes, Kirin can hang onto their 10.2% and make like difficult for WCB.
But if Saputo wanted to respond accordingly, couldn't they just decide to not pay a dividend for quite sometime. As a shareholder with a large amount of funds employed for no return, I'm guessing Kirin would eventually sell their stake.
I'm sure there are means at Saputo's disposal to overcome this.
I'm not saying this is good or bad, but just that eventually Kirin will have no option other than to sell out.
Especially if they want to make a bid for BGA.
