well Japanese candlesticks were developed by Munehisa Homma a Japanese rice trader in the 18th century, with arguments for candlestick charts developing in the Meiji period in Japan in the late 1800's.

Later introduced to the west by Steve nison in 1980's some time I believe.

shortly after the fall of the samurai along came the Tokugawa era where samurai increasingly became courtiers, bureaucrats, and administrators rather than warriors, samurai gradually lost their military function.

the samurai's paired long and short swords became more of a symbolic emblem of power rather than a weapon used in daily life, be it a gentlemen, farmer, artisan or merchant.

as time progresses along came a man named Homma who took the spirit of the samurai and developed a technique in order to win the new battle being fought for profit.

This was exactly the case in how the Chinese and Japanese went about their business....as if it was war.

Later a man by the name of steve nison discovered that Japanese candle sticks were being used by modern day traders on the Asian markets that had been around for over 100 years.

Steve nison then went to release his research to the west in the 1980's.

so that's the relationship with not only charting but anything in life that you think strategically and measured in order to be the victor....

when I place a trade as funny as it sounds, I go to battle.

its a really easy concept to grasp...
