where will asx200 be in year's time?, page-31

Orig post sez: "ASX closed CY2013 at 5353. I concede forecasting is risky but my feeling is world economy including China is in for a tough 2014. ASX200 to close about 850 points lower at 4,500".

Not many responded but highest punt was 6500 while 'freewill', is even more pessimistic (accurate??) than me with an estimate of 4200.

Well 1st month of the CY is over and ASX200 closed at 5190 a drop of 163 or 3%. It's early days but bears have taken an modest lead. Some reckon 6000 is achievable by 31/12/14. That means index needs to gain 810 points. That requires gain of 15.6% in 11 months. Doable? Of course it is but looks even more unlikely than it did 30 days ago imo.
