I am sorry that you feel my comments do not reflect what is really going on in Kiev.
I did post links to Ilya Varlamov's photo journal showing both the violence and the encampment in Maidan long before you did. But thanks anyway for posting them too.
I live here with my familly, in the centre of Kiev about 1Km from the main flashpoints.
I have read that it is all a Jewish Zionist plot, I have read that the government of Ukraine is valiantly fighting the forces of Neo Nazis and fascism, that, in a country that has never had violence before in its history has suddenly been taken over by them.
I am a bit confused with the description of the protesters at Maidan being both Jewish and Neo Nazis unless they suffer from both collective amnesia and schizophrenia simultaneously. Which is of course absurd.
The only point fo us here is getting rid of our corrupt tyrannical leadership. That is what lies at the heart of the situation.
Yanukovich and is his crowd, known locally as the familly have taken corruption to such a level that no one can cope with it anymore.
His son has amassed a fortune of more than $500mn in just 3 years since his Dad has run the country, which is not bad for state registered dentist.
My wife works for an Aids charity here in Kiev and tells me of the government health sector paying 27 times the market price of retroviral drugs. This is the price the charity has to pay to buy them from the state, they are barred from buying them abroad themselves. The difference, that 26X, goes into the pocket of local government administrators. Net result they can treat only 1/27th of the people they should be able to.
To send my daughter to the local kinergarten, which has an obligation to accept her based upon our address I have to pay a $500 bribe and so on...
All this talk of fascists and neo nazis is just wrong. I don't care what a journalist sat in London writes.
Why, if Ukraine is full of Nazis and Fascists has there never been any violence in this country before.
Right now we have only each other to protect ourselves from the police, the berkut, the titushki and the government. That is what we are doing.
Maybe you regard me as a fascist for writing this reply to you, maybe you don't.
I am simply a father and businessman looking forward to a better future in this country without all the corruption that is everywhere now.
I, my friends, my familly will do what it takes to achieve this.
It does not make me, my wife of my 3 year old daughter a fascist or a nazi.
