just gotten over one myself. Had a knee op which effected my lower back and sciatic nerve I think because I got back on the push bike too quickly.
Physio did a good job but it didn't fully go away so went to trustee acupuncturist - 3 visits and all good.
I respond pretty well to those needles though - worth a try
