If it were a rugby league player, I doubt if she would have so much sympathy.
Not so sure about that.
He'd get the same sympathy if we'd watched him perform since the age of 14, won five Olympic gold medals, eleven World Championship golds, all with grace and dignity and was obviously battling with some inner torment.
