    When they closed the other plants (I think it was in the 80's)
    The government paid the growers a subsidy for each tree they pulled out
    Thousands of trees littered the ground until they were dry to burn in piles of bonfires
    That was a devastating thing.

    The agenda here appears to be to force a repeat of that devastation until most of our fruit trees in the GV are gone forever
    You only need to look in the supermarket to see that the local canned fruit prices are being jacked up while the imported supermarket owned brand is sold at dumping prices

    Never mind. One day you can take your children/grand children through the area and tell once there were fruit trees all around here.
