The government put out stats years ago on charity funds in general.

The finding was that around 4 to 8c of every dollar that is donated gets to the intended recipient.

The other 96 - 92% goes in Admin costs and corrupt payments to governments.

I stopped donating to any charities after that. I do tip all wait staff at cafe's and restaurants generously.
What really pissed me off was, there was a local charity drive for the very ill children in our local hospital. I gave $50. Some enterprising donater uncovered and the papers publicised that none of the money was spent on the children of the local hospital.
