Don't understand what the outpouring of grief for this guy is all about. Certainly don't think he was great. "Great" to me means somebody who has done good things for humanity.

Thousands of people die every day from basic things like lack of food, water or basic sanitation. I don't hear a heaving heart about the thousands who die everyday from basic things like lack of food, water or shelter from the chorus of celebrities who have paraded their sorrow for Hoffman on twitter and social media for the thousands dying for.

I feel sorry for his family; but the outpouring of grief over the death of this guy is imo out of proportion for what he did for all of society. Did he do a lot of charity work like Angelina Jolie?
