I understand and appreciate what you are saying.
The Great White shark population explosion and subsequent attacks in WA and SA has a hell of a lot to do with South Australia because that is where they breed and drop the pups. It was the SA government who stopped the fishing in that breeding/birthing ground in 1994 by forming a Marine Park. Then the federal government protected them in 1997
Its a no brainer that if you stop catching and protect a species it will eventually breed up out of control until they become a problem. The problem here in WA has really raised its ugly head in the last 10 years and more so in the last 5 years. Limited research indicates that the Great White travels from South Australia along the south coast of WA around Cape Leeuwin, up the west coast past Margaret River,Busselton,Bunbury,Perth and on as high as Exmouth and then sometimes across to South Africa and back. Exactly where most of the attacks take place in that travel path.
Seems odd that there were very few attacks prior to 1994 so I will stick to my local knowledge and opinion on this matter.
