pfizer back in town - tacere last paper, page-14

My take from the San Diego meeting with Dr. French and my lunch with Carl is that Pfizer is definitely looking over our shoulders as this trial progresses. The interest from the scientists and management that worked on TT-034 is important to them. It validates their science as well as ours. Can you imagine the angst they went through when Pfizer closed that unit down. They knew they were on to something and the carpet was pulled from underneath them. At both meetings I had I was told they had great interest in our trial. How far up the chain that goes I don't know and wasn't told.

You can imagine how some of those people in the original research want to inform their "superiors" aka Bozos how much they screwed up. As I believe someone on the board mentioned sometime back that the bean counters and executives don't search for the next company/drug to add to their pipeline/product line. Info gets to them from their lead researches who read the journals and understand the science. Information on good acquisitions/partnerships trickles up to the management suite. I guarantee you Pfizer is watching closely. Even Pannobaso has an article out today about this on his blog.

Back to the meetings I had. Pfizer helped David Suhy and Per Lindell obtain and collalate the information from the Tacere Trial. A lot of that info was in different places in deep storage. That's about all those two worked on for about 9 months to create the Ind application. Pfizers' people helped all the way. It wasn't Pfizer it was other vendors who slowed the process. Nothing would surprise me going forward. Pfizer has an interest and a very good relationship with Benitec management. I would not at all be surprised if they have already made overtures and Benitec put them off until more value is created by trial results. I hear a lot on this board about not wanting to sell our science cheap and Pfizer would most likely be the first to make an offer. Who knows the science, potential, and successful experimental results better than they do.
