leishd, you should read up a bit more on El Roble and the big plan. They won't be an artisanal miner for very long. The small scale mining is to fund the bigger exploration plans.
El Roble has never had modern exporation techniques before and is right next door to some of the largest low cost copper mines in the world. Hence, why BHP made several offers in years gone by. The private owners circumstances changed and somehow MNE was able to pounce and hence why the head of exploration for BHP in Chile put his hand up to come and work for MNE. He was in charge of due diligence for BHP when they tried to buy El Roble.
