Unfortunately you need to go back to intro to Grammar to understand what an adjective is.

"palestinian" is indeed an adjective - and I'll let you go back through the thread and learn why the adjective "palestinian" in particular is a misleading and false describer of the peoples in question. Here is a hint - it is an adjective usurped in the last 100 years or so and used carte' blanche for a mix of arabs of various transient backgrounds to suddenly claim some historical right to a land called "palestine", regardless of their ancestral roots.

chrysalis has of course clutched at straws in attempting to pick maybe half a dozen different points in time to claim why the "palestinians" are "palestinian", but chrysalis actually cannot pinpoint what/where "palestine" is and chrysalis also dismisses out of hand any historical claims of jews to the area.

But back to the current "palestinian's" usurp of the adjective "palestinians", the best place to leave this is to hear a senior "palestinian" leader explain the roots of the "palestinians" - surely this person is best qualified (is he not?) to explain who/what a "palestinian" is:

To short-circuit this video - Fathih Hammad is Hammas Minister of the Interior and National Security. You cannot find a more parochial "palestinian" and anti-Israeli/anti-jew than Fathih (okay, perhaps there are a few here with similar claims).

Suggest you fast forward to just after 1:40 into the video.

    Here is the transcript:

"...Allah be praised, we all have Arab roots, and every Palestinian, in Gaza and throughout Palestine, can prove his Arab roots - whether from Saudi Arabia, from Yemen, or anywhere. We have blood ties. So where is your affection and mercy?"

    ...

"Personally, half my family is Egyptian. We are all like that. More than 30 families in the Gaza Strip are called Al-Masri ["Egyptian"]. Brothers, half of the Palestinians are Egyptians and the other half are Saudis."

"Who are the Palestinians? We have many families called Al-Masri, whose roots are Egyptian. Egyptian! They may be from Alexandria, from Cairo, from Dumietta, from the North, from Aswan, from Upper Egypt. We are Egyptians. We are Arabs. We are Muslims. We are a part of you."

Don't think it could be any clearer than this, but I'll leave it to the pears, maverichs, chucks, chrysalis' and others who are clearly far more qualified than the Hammas Minister to try to argue the "palestinian" historical proof and right. Maybe these posters are actually secretly "palestinian" and would like to claim that the "palestinian" Hammas Minister has no idea what his peoples' background is - LOL
