Mark Twain was a redneck anyway. Because he wrote some novels doesn't mean he is any more correct in his assumptions of any culture than anyone else.
Using this persons ramblings to make views on a culture is akin to being a believer in scientology and adopting a science fiction writers views on the universe and the origins of the Human race.
