    L-L,

I see you actually found a very good reference on horizontal drilling before I got to respond.

I know hind sight is 20/20, but I was surprised to see them getting caught on a simple fact that cement freezes in subzero conditions. Hopefully they had at least attempted to use special low temp cements.

As for the waxing problems, as Mark said if the correct chemical injections control lines are in place and run with the tubing, then the situation is easily controlled. if wax wasn't anticipated, and the control lines aren't in place, this can be remedied by working over the well. Pull the tubing, install, chemical inject sub, and run the control line. Unfortunately it appears they can't get a work over the rig until the season changes. The waxing problem should only be a temporary delay rather than any permanent problem.

The problem is why aren't these things anticipated, these aren't the first wells drilled on this field. Especially that this field has limited access, then you would think that any completions would be designed for redundancy and if there was any possibilities of requiring any chemical injection then it would have been very cheap to install at the time of the original completion.

You can say I have not been overly impressed with their oil expertise. I should have realized when they first started talking about CO2 EOR in Wyoming, and I asked about chrome liner, at the diesel dash, would be required, all I got was blank looks, and that was not just PB, he had a Wyoming man there as well.
