Hi exberliner1,
"You have no idea how lucky you lot in Austrlia are, I used to live in Sydney but I left and look where I ended up!"
Just to clarify a few things.
"Us lot" as you put it do know how blessed we are.
That's why many escape war torn countries to get here.
I would say most, especially on HC have a vast amount of research knowledge to see exactly what is happening.
Still never as good as people on the ground of course.
The advantage we have at the moment is having live up todate footage without censorship.
Exberliner1, you didn't just end up in Kiev.
That was your choice as you have previously stated your reasons. I have no qualms with that at all. It's sad to see a country with so much beauty (I can only say that from photos & videos I have seen}, plus the investment and economic potential as you have previously illustrated,
that Ukraine is being ripped apart and could lead to civil war. You may not think so. However, even if Yanukovych gets toppled, how do you propose east and west are going to unite when there is such a vast difference between the two even though they are both part of Ukraine? There will be a blame game of course from both sides as there always is.
9 Police Officers and 11 Protesters killed plus 1 Government official. Sad fact is, both sides are Ukrainians fighting each other while outside interference from Russia, the US and the EU are if anything only exasperating the conflict.
It's becoming a heated melting pot.
The sooner Yanukovych and is cohorts are removed the better.
Stay safe.
Cheers markco2
