taxing, you are spot on, they are trying to privatise the company via the back door and it has failed. They will not remove Maitlin without buying them out at a higher price, it is as simple as that. This is a real Greenmail job by Maitlin over Glencore.
They tried to privatisation of Anaconda to control the Murrin Murrin plant as they also own a share of this plant in the own right (ie separate from Anaconda).
Towie, your question of when ANLN becomes ANL is partially tackled in today's annnouncement from ANL. Maitlin do not want the ANLN shares turned into ANL before 25 February. The Panel decided that the ANLN can become ANL shares as soon as they are ready to be registered (I heard from my broker that this issue is the registry's very worst nightmare, 1.6B rights to register, 1819 separate sh'ers have taken them up or bought them, myself and my Dad make 2!).
He did say that ANLN were supposed to continue trading until March 5 which was when the MP takeover had been extended to, but I suspect it is going to be much sooner. I suspect the day they become ANL could be a movable feast.
