I am of the opinion that interest rates will be going nowhere but down over the next 5 years. On the other hand I believe that australia is due for an imminent economic downturn this downturn will devastate an economy heavily dependent on the consumer, jobs will be lost and this will lead to a massive downturn in the real estate market which is full of overcommitted dreamers. Interest rates can go down and it will make no difference. Japan is a perfect example.
