The same blokes crop up every few months trying to get the property prices lower. I think they are looking for a favourable entry price to add a few more properties to their holdings.
By the way someone forgot to mention the feature that distinguishes the Japanese and Australian economies. Australia has large resources and agricultural industries the former may be given a great boost in the future by a burgeoning China. (eg. $25 billion gas contract)
