The pretext for my opinion is the simple fact that the US has to expend its arsonal.. let the relief valve go..so to speak.
The war machine in the US is so dependent on consumption that stockpiling their WMD is not an option.
The US is the current Roman Empire and as such has to keep the wheels of industry moving... bullets included.
My prediction is that the earth will see another stouch between the US and some innocent country ( trumped up charges by the US will make them guilty..of course..) sometime in the next...say.... 5 years.
