Part of the pricing escalation that has started on the East Coast is due to the efforts of greenies who have strangled a nascent CSG industry in NSW and Vic. Powering up the new multi-train LNG plants in Gladstone from late 2014 is going to suck the life out of east coast gas supplies. Its doubly galling that this greens agenda has had the effect of prolonging GHG polluting coal fired powergen when gas powergen would produce immediate GHG reductions.
