is there a way in buddhism to cure a sociopath? if yes, what's the procedure?

from 1:45:25 a depiction is in this movie, when the sociopath decides to kill his own mother, so Buddha intervenes
but i can imagine, in reality, a sociopath could only be curred by witnessing the suffering they cause to others, such as by watching/listening to victims
in Buddhism, a cure starts with comprehending the suffering of ourselves & others
