zzedzz, you said:
"Its not at all hard as you make out. Its an absolute standard practice and all the others do it. again, you appear to denigrate the company and turn the task into something that they can't handle within their normal resources. CDU is doing all the work needed right now and have been doing it since they started the stockpiles. They are most likely more sophisticated than most in how they are doing it, so please don't denigrate the company."
I'm not so sure that that is correct as far as CDU is concerned. They have reported sg's of the host rock of between 4.5 and 1.6, with a range of values in between. That means that the stockpilers need to measure the sg carefully as well as the grade. At one point the company reported 59mt with an sg of 3.7 (2006 AGM preso), but the bulk samples for the test work only came in at 1.67.
Secondly, if they rush their work as much as they did when they produced the 17th February 2014 report with the misleading ASX headline of "Mining reaches upto 56% Cu in massive sulphides". Misleading, because the XRF reading justifying the headline is a false one as the sample % totals 130%. Who knows what was wrong with the machine - not zeroed properly, not calibrated or just broken - but rushing that through for something as important as an ASX announcement doesn't give much confidence that routine assessments will be performed accurately. Rushed through, because that reading was taken only 2hrs before the announcement was released.
Interestingly, page 9 of the latest notes to the JORC indicates that they need to pay more attention to calibration of instruments.
