I think its more about knowledge, means, calculated risk and confidence.

Over the years, so many reasons to not do this and not do that,
If you lose your "job" - so what? Get and new one, apply to bank for mortgage holiday (try that renting).
Redundancy payouts, start new business or buy existing one and grow it.

so um, what about no job?
