I agree - short selling does serve a certain purpose in the market place. As a buy and hold sort of guy I have found that short selling has gained momentum and popularity with everyday investors in recent years....perhaps since the GFC? Each to their own on strategy but what does get frustrating is shorters betting against the success of a company as opposed to longer term holders completing DD and analysis on fundamentals. I'm going to pull out a line here but it isn't the Australian way is it? To me, a lot of the people that have posted on here that are short sellers just jump on a bandwagon with no real science or strategy other than, it’s gone up enough so it’s time to beat the price down. Good for re-entry but by god, as a 10 year holder of FMG it is frustrating to see a cracker result get dealt with by a double digit drop. Only my opinion. Let us hope the new week brings some positive outcomes
