You are correct in saying there is no difference in theory.
The smaller caps do attract a higher percentage of smaller investors because the lower prices due to the larger volume of shares. The smaller investers preferring a gamble as opposed to an investment in bank shares for example.
IMO this is why we are seeing many trades and small volumes selling around the 7c mark (ignoring the bot trading).
This has been going on for weeks now. My theory is it's the small investors giving up on their gamble. If we had less shares on offer then we would have less small investors.
This then tightens supply and hence why investors prefer less shares on offer.
I haven't read this in a book. I prefer to make it up as I go along and it could be BS.
