I suppose that its because those "baseless hack articles" are written in layman terms where as the serious stuff is more technical and often ambiguous to the novice. Its the same with the Prima Biomed study that was released last year. It generally came across as a flop but the researchers are still pressing on with PIII after some modifications etc. Its nice to understand the technical detail but sometimes an executive summary for the dummies is welcome
