I don't see why it is worth more than baseload power. In fact, it is worth a lot less. The reason? It is not a guaranteed supply for a start, watch the meter every time a cloud passes overhead. It stops as soon as the sun goes down.
All of which mean that the power stations need to keep running anyhow, using the same amount of fuel and passing the cost on to those without solar. Notice how our power bills have gone up? Talk about sustainability...this whole scheme was unsustainable from the start.
