Molten steel IS molten metal. Or are you going to tell us steel isnt a metal now?
The alternative is that there is many many tonnes of aluminium? still red hot months later. And what we saw out the window didnt cool on the way down. Maybe you can account for this by saying the planes were solid aluminium?
Use some common sense. There was not nearly enough of any metal other than steel.
