er6n... you're pinned to the ground grovelling!
As per the table you presented:
Atlas standards last quarter = US$120.24 vs value fines = US$92.07
the difference = US$28.17 or 23.43%
Atlas standards last quarter = AUD$129.67 vs value fines = AUD$98.92
the difference = AUD$30.75 or 23.71%
I said AUD$110 vs AUD$85
the difference = $25 or 22.73%
Do you not see a fundamental law of numbers in play here?
The question you should really be asking is why I broke one of those fundamental laws and didn't discount the value fines (relative to the standard fines) by 23.1%?
1) I based my calculations from prices traded on the open market at a single point in time! Whereas the table you present is an average across 3 months of time!
2) You'll notice that according to the table, the discount applied on Atlas standard fines is 10.7%! Whereas my calculation came out to a 12.4% discount! Which is correct? They're both correct! My calculation for the discount was based from trades that went through at the same point in time! The one in the table is based from trades that went through at different points in time! ie. During the course of the quarter, AGO made more shipments when the spot price was higher relative to the shipments they made when the spot price was lower.
3) So it follows that, AGO made less shipments of value fines relative to standard fines shipments when the spot pricing was higher, and more shipments of value fines relative to standard fines shipments when the spot pricing was lower during the course of the quarter!
er6, you're the Thai Ladyboy on hotcopper! the fact that you try to paint yourself as a GREAT MAN only furthers the argument that you had the snip snip job ;P
