The US is concerned that it was a hijacking by terrorists.

In the event that the plane could have actually been landed somewhere, then it becomes a potential missile, for use at a later date.

The most likely target for such an attack would be America or her allies.

The US is reported to believe the plane went down in the Indian Ocean and has diverted one of their Naval ships to the area.

Couple of interesting bits of information:

"Sources have told America’s ABC News, two communications systems on the Malaysia Airlines jet were shutdown separately, more than 10 minutes apart."

"Many investigators now believe the plane definitely turned back and flew across Malaysia and the Malacca Strait, close to the top of Indonesia.

US officials told CNN that several “pings” of engine data from the airliner to satellites in the hours after it lost contact and known radar information suggests the plane may have flown to the Indian Ocean."

    Indonesian jihadist's???

    Uygher separatist action???

"One report in local Malaysian newspaper Harian Metro says that one of the passengers was a 35-year-old Uigher, a Muslim group in the Xinjiang region of China, who had been working at a Turkish University and who reportedly has some knowledge of aircraft."

Pretty sad to think that the US has been funding the Chinese Uygher Muslims. See links:
