If you are short shares most likely nothing, brokers should be able to close out positions and reallocate shares. Go spend your windfall.
If you are shorting by derivatives, and there is no longer a market, then you might have to wait for the underwriter to write off the shares before you get paid out. I don't know how long that could take and I've always thought it might be best to close out if that looked imminent. Someone from finance could give better details.
