    Turning off the Transponder doesn't hide it from radar, all the transponder does is broadcast identification, altitude, speed, heading..

    Radar will still see it but it just becomes a blip on the screen and only has a range of about 100 miles anyway.. only way you can hide from radar is with a stealth aircraft or flow close to the ocean.

    What it does show though is how bad the military defence is in this corner of the globe. Clearly has no missile defence or tracking like the west does. ie thinking of Norad
