It sounds like an inside job to me, or maybe a repeat of two prior incidents (one of which I have already mentioned):
- the Greek plane, which had its oxygen turned off by the maintenance crew, who then forgot to turn it back on, leading to oxygen deprivation (although this seems very unlikely, the fact that it flew for some considerable time without any contact with ground control gives this scenario a degree of credence);
- a deliberate attempt by a crew member, who was in serious financial trouble, to disable the aircraft so his family could claim insurance. A desperate act by a desperate man.
But it's more likely to be an act of terrorism committed by Muslim fanatics, especially when we take into account the recent slaughter of innocent people by Muslim separatists in Xian province of Northern China.
