Anyone wonder why the USS Kidd chose to head south to search the corridor rather than the northern one?

Maybe the captain flipped a coin – north or south, heads or tails?

Not likely.

Maybe they thought – well, everyone is looking north, we will take south?

Not likely.

Maybe they had the best information and thought it the more likely?

Probably.

Notice how everyone says – each corridor has equal importance.

What’s in the southern corridor?
Water.

Anything nearby?
Yep, Australia.

Anything else? Nope.


Now it seems at least logical, not necessarily for sure – but it does seem to make sense that this plane went to a hell of a lot of troube not to be seen ---------- why would you do that if the plan was to just dump into the ocean? Makes no sense.

Terrorism? Flying bombs? God knows what? --------- possible, but everyone and his dog is going to be on the lookout for a rouge 777 and will be well prepared to blow it out of the sky if necessary.
Imo, also makes no sense.

Not 100% sure – but there is a very good chance there was something on this plane that someone wanted badly.

And, if that is so and if it came south ----------- then there is only one likely place ----------- Oz.

All you have to do is avoid radar – which they seem pretty bloody good at. Western Australia has many salt lakes – hard as the hammers of hell and kilometres long and flat as a billiard table.

Dead easy logistics. Not a soul for miles. Transport whatever you like and not be noticed. Buy what you like and not be noticed.

easy - you just don't let em out of the plane until you have unloaded cargo.

angry or not - they aren't going to stand against a few blokes with weapons - doesn't happen.
