Perhaps Aleator’s future in Crimea may, to some degree, come down to whether they are viewed as a Ukrainian run/owned project. Aleator’s website claims a 62.1% interest in the field, however their public releases - e.g. latest half year report - describe the license holder as Nadra Krymu. Nadra is a subsidiary of the National Joint Stock Company “Nadra Ukrayny”, which was established by the Ukraine government in 2000 and appears to be a state-run entity (it’s a little difficult to tell, the website is more the a little disjointed - can anyone clarify?). If the Russians are nationalising Ukraine entities, as was just announced on the ABC news website, then why would they view the Prov project as anything other than Ukrainian, i.e. fair game?
