And if you're curious Johnny: personally, the particular style should suit the fighter. For example, if you're not naturally flexible, then you may find Tae Kwon Do unsuitable; if you're not naturally strong then you may find traditional Japanese Karate such as Shotokan unsuitable; if you're not naturally fast then you may find Southern Chinese Kung Fu such as Wing Chun unsuitable.
If you are lucky and born with a high degree of strength, speed and flexibility then you can effectively use all of the above styles...plus, of course, my personal favourite: Jute Keen Do (the art of fighting without fighting).
Anyhow, I'm off to se my PhD Supervisor...he better be nice :)
