Reported speculation that whoever walks away from the P & O bid might bid for PRK.


My comments:

If Singapore wins P & O, it will become the largest operator of ports in the world. This might prompt the CKI group to move on PRK, to regain its number one status.

If either Dubai or Singapore start a bid for PRK, it might also tempt CKI to bid. CKI already has over $10 billion invested in Australia.

Dubai already owns a port in Adelaide.

Singapore has SingTel and Singapore Power in Australia.

ACCC might decide by next week, or the week after.

This takeover game will continue into Feb. 2006 or beyond.
